A "call for consensus" or "consensus call" is a question put to the workgroup or the OCF Collab Network to measure the level of consensus and to determine whether there are issues/objections that must be addressed.

Calls for consensus may be formal or informal. While both formal and informal have most of the same fundamental attributes; a formal call for consensus must be announced in advance as outlined in the T3 Guidelines and throughly documented in the permanent record while an informal call for consensus may be called at any time to take the "temperature" of the group before moving on.
